The Beast Power (Revelation 13)
Beast Power Characteristics:
1. Rises out of sea (Rev. 13:1)
2. Comes after other powers (Rev. 13:2)
3. Religious Power (Rev. 13:4)
4. Worldwide Power (Rev. 13:3)
5. Blasphemies God (Rev. 13:5-6)
6. Given power for 1,260 years (Rev. 13:5-6)
7. Persecutes Saints (Rev. 13:7)
8. Speaks great things (Dan. 7:8)
9. Comes out of Europe (Dan. 7:24)
Revelation 13:1
1 And the dragon stood on the sand of the [a]seashore.
Then I saw a beast coming up out of the sea, having ten horns and seven heads, and on his horns were ten diadems, and on his heads were blasphemous names.
Beast rises out of the sea. The sea represents a multitude of people (see Revelations 17:15)
Revelation 13:2
2 And the beast which I saw was like a leopard, and his feet were like those of a bear, and his mouth like the mouth of a lion. And the dragon gave him his power and his throne and great authority.
The characteristics of the lion, leopard, and bear shows that the beast power comes after them.
Revelation 13:4
4 they worshiped the dragon because he gave his authority to the beast; and they worshiped the beast, saying, “Who is like the beast, and who is able to wage war with him?
People of the world are woshipping the beast. This shows that the beast is a religious power.
Revelation 13:3
3 I saw one of his heads as if it had been [a]slain, and his fatal wound was healed. And the whole earth was amazed and followed after the beast;
A worldwide power.
Revelation 13:5-6
5 There was given to him a mouth speaking arrogant words and blasphemies, and authority to act for forty-two months was given to him. 6 And he opened his mouth in blasphemies against God, to blaspheme His name and His tabernacle, that is, those who dwell in heaven.
This power attacks (blasphemy) against God and Christ. Given power for 1260 years.

7 It was also given to him to make war with the [a]saints and to overcome them, and authority over every tribe and people and tongue and nation was given to him.
Persecuting the saints.
Daniel 7:8
8 While I was contemplating the horns, behold, another horn, a little one, came up among them, and three of the first horns were pulled out by the roots before it; and behold, [a]this horn possessed eyes like the eyes of a man and a mouth uttering great boasts.
Little horn removes 3 of the 10 horns. Mouth like a man that speaks great things.
Daniel 7:24
24 As for the ten horns, out of this kingdom ten kings will arise; and another will arise after them, and he will be different from the previous ones and will subdue three kings.
10 horns = 10 Kingdoms. The Roman Empire is then divided into 10 kindgoms but 1 arises from amoung them and uproots or removes 3 kingdoms - Heruli, Vandals, and Ostrogoths were eliminated by the year 538 AD.

25 He will speak out against the Most High and wear down the saints of the Highest One, and he will intend to make alterations in times and in law; and they will be given into his hand for a time, times, and half a time.
1 time = 1 year. A time + times + 1/2 a time = 3.5 years. 3.5 years = 1260 days or years. The deadly wound was recieved in 1798 AD.
