Prayer

Why do you say a prayer?

    1. Is it for God to only and then become active upon the request?
    2. Is praying only for me?
    3. Is there a way to pray?

1. Is it for God to only hear and then become active upon the request?

    Matthew 6:8

8 So do not be like them; for your Father knows what you need before you ask Him.
God already knows what you need before you even pray. He is the God of heaven, the creator. He knows everything you need.

2. Is praying only for me?

    Exekiel 23:35

35 Therefore, thus says the Lord God, ‘Because you have forgotten Me and cast Me behind your back, bear now the punishment of your lewdness and your harlotries.
God doesn't want us to forget him. When we do and choose to, then God leaves us to our own devices.

    Matthew 17:21

21 But this kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting.
One needs to have self-denial when they come to God.

    Matthew 21:22

22 And all things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive.
Prayer is dependent on faith. Faith of who? Yours!

    John 15:7

7 If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.
It is important to abide in Christ.

    James 5:17-20

17 Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed earnestly that it would not rain, and it did not rain on the earth for three years and six months. 18 Then he prayed again, and the sky poured rain and the earth produced its fruit. 19 My brethren, if any among you strays from the truth and one turns him back, 20 let him know that he who turns a sinner from the error of his way will save his soul from death and will cover a multitude of sins.
Heavens store house is open to those who follow God and his will being done in us.

3. Is there a way to pray?

    Matthew 6:5-8

5 “When you pray, you are not to be like the hypocrites; for they love to stand and pray in the synagogues and on the street corners [a]so that they may be seen by men. Truly I say to you, they have their reward in full. 6 But you, when you pray, go into your inner room, close your door and pray to your Father who is in secret, and your Father who sees what is done in secret will reward you. 7 “And when you are praying, do not use meaningless repetition as the Gentiles do, for they suppose that they will be heard for their many words. 8 So do not be like them; for your Father knows what you need before you ask Him.
What did Christ say? To follow him.

    Matthew 6:9-15

9 “Pray, then, in this way: ‘Our Father who is in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. 10 ‘Your kingdom come. Your will be done, On earth as it is in heaven. 11 ‘Give us this day [a]our daily bread. 12 ‘And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. 13 ‘And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from [b]evil. [c][For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.’] 14 For if you forgive [d]others for their transgressions, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. 15 But if you do not forgive [e]others, then your Father will not forgive your transgressions.
Praise God and worship Him before all else in your prayer, and you will find your problems are not so big after trusting in a God so big and mighty. We need Christ and the Holy Spirit in our hearts, we need to be set to the world to come for this is not our home and we need to humble our heart and transform them to our place in heaven. By transforming our thoughts and mind to heaven, we change. We must depend on God for every need. He cares and loves you. We need to repent and have faith in Christ's faith. Without Christ's blood, we have no hope and no future. We need to ask to have the strength to resist temptations and go to the word of God to fight the evil around us. We must forgive our fellow men.
